About The Zip Yard:

The Zip Yard was founded in 2005 after extensive market research identified a gap in the market where it found how very few body shapes conform to the ‘standard’ European sizes found on the High Street.

We also realised that people no longer had the time or skills to tackle even the simplest of hems let alone risking damage to a favourite or expensive garment.

Originating in Ireland The Zip Yard grew into a franchise with shops all over the country and entered the British market place in early 2010. The success of The Zip Yard has relied on taking a different approach to the clothing alterations business. People want their garments, whether they are ‘every day’ items or ‘special occasion’ wear altered by trained professionals they can trust, quickly and efficiently, in clean modern premises.

This has led to our branches enjoying a high volume of repeat business on a weekly basis.

The Zip Yard prides itself in highly visible and bold branding. This deliberately strong branding separates us from our competitors and helps us to dominate in the high street. We believe in our product and we feel that we are well on our way to making The Zip Yard brand one of the most recognisable both nationally and internationally. As well as our unique branding, all our outlets are finished to the highest of standards and include ‘state of the art’ machinery, computer system and in most cases our seamstresses work in full view of the public so customers can see for themselves the high standards of workmanship.
