Today’s world is a multilingual world. The majority of the world’s population speaks two or more languages on a daily basis to talk to family members, travel the world, and find a job or progress in their careers.

My name is Sandra Lorenz-O’Sullivan and I specialise in helping parents who want to give their young children the best education available to them and who put an emphasis on learning foreign languages as an important part of their children’s education.

Learning foreign languages offers a number of benefits for the head as well as the heart. Most importantly, children enjoy the fun factor of play activities incorporated into structured lessons. Those activities in turn help them to improve academic skills such as acquiring new learning techniques or develop their social skills by participating in group activities. An additional feature of learning a new language is to learn about the diversity of people and cultures, a useful tool when traveling the (business) world. And once your children have outgrown their school uniform they will be a step ahead when it comes to job opportunities and career progression without borders.

About:
I was born and grew up in Rostock, Germany, where I graduated from the University of Rostock with a Master in Education and Sociology. My work experience includes intercultural education for preschool children in Germany and since living in Ireland I have worked in adult education in the private sector and higher education. My own exposure to foreign languages began with learning Russian at the age of 9, followed by English and Spanish. At present I am brushing up on my Spanish and learn it with my children, as well as the basics of Irish. I have obtained additional qualifications in language teaching for young learners from the Centre for Childhood Multilingualism (ZKM e.V.) in Munich, Germany as well as the Goethe Institut (German as a second language for preschool and primary school children). I offer classes and private German language lessons as well as learning resources for learning at home or in the classroom.
