Underground Cinema

Underground Cinema believes a budget can't limit the passion of the filmmakers behind it. With technology becoming more accessible and approachable, we see an emergence of fresh, vibrant storytelling. Due to decreasing funding for the arts, the medium needs support from an organisation willing to showcase new work.

Underground Cinema began screening selections of short Irish films in Dun Laoghaire in 2009. Since then it has evolved from its monthly screenings of short films to its annual Underground Cinema Film Festival, which is now in its ninth year.
