More about The Ros Tapestry

The Ros Tapestry Project is a massive community initative in progress in the County of Wexford. Conceived in 1998, to date the project has been developed by over one hundred and eighty dedicated volunteer stitchers. The collection comprises of fifteen striking embroidered panels measuring 6 x 4 foot each. These works are a cultural and historical accolade to its' creators.

The Ros Tapestries depict events around the Anglo-Norman arrival to the South East of Ireland, specifically the founding of the town of New Ross, Co. Wexford by William Marshall and Isabel de Clare. The content for these tapestry panels was exhaustively researched and designed by Anne Bernstorff.

The Ros Tapestry is open 7 days a week for guided tours. Tours are available all day and usually last 45 minutes. Group bookings are welcome but we would advise booking in advance for larger numbers.

The exhibition provides the ideal introduction to the Norman sights of the South East and is of great interest to all age groups.
