The Natural Golf School

The Heritage Golf & Spa Resort also offers the ‘Natural’ Golf School which is only the third of its kind in the world and the first in Ireland and the UK. Using leading edge technology and personal tuition, from PGA professional Eddie Doyle, you will be taught the principles of the game, especially in the short game for which Seve was renowned.

There is a feast of other facilities too, including a driving range with power tees, indoor putting green, swing room with video analysis, pitching green and bunker practice area, as well as a 9 hole par 3 course. The school facilities include 10 bay floodlit driving range, Two teaching bays , 100 metre wide outdoor grass tee area , Dedicated short game facility with putting green, Pitching green, Bunker practice area , Target golf greens at 50, 70 and 100 yrds. Central to the school's philosophies and an integral part of the facility is:- THE SWING ROOM, The digital coaching and analysis system for swing evaluation, Digital video coaching, Bio mechanics room, Indoor putting green and pitching green. To complement the ‘Natural’ Golf School, the The Leix Course is a dedicated practice course, with holes measuring 100 to 210 yards, custom designed to provide an on course practice facility for the teaching principles of the school.

Eddie Doyle has been a PGA Professional for the last 25 years and a Leinster GUI Coach for the past 15. He made his name as one of Ireland’s leading tour players in the mid to late 80’s, winning numerous Pro-Am’s, other Irish region events and competing in 4 Irish Opens. He also played in the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth – the flagship event on in the European Tour.

Having worked with and learned from some of the best international players and coaches, Eddie posesses and enviable coaching CV. These include Seve Ballesteros, Keith Williams (European Tour Coach), Luther Blacklock (Explanar Training System Inventor) and other European Tour players associated with the Seve Trophy and The Heritage International Challenge.

Eddie is also instrumental in the design, development and delivery of a key module in the MSc Sport and Exercise Management (Golf Management Stream) for UCD. This innovative program, delivered to post-graduate students involved in the golf industry, has made a significant contribution to the professional development of golf management in Ireland.

He has successfully managed the renowned Natural Golf School since its inception in 2002. Eddie currently coaches some of Ireland's leading amateur players and a number of the top professionals in the Irish PGA Region.
