The Hive Studios - Digital Arts Studio

In the heart of Creggan, a new digital journey is beginning. The city's first Digital Art Studio - born out of a pioneering partnership between Creggan Enterprises and Guildhall Press - has opened at the Rath Mor Business Centre.
This new learning and social hub will provide opportunities for young and old alike to train in, practice and benefit from the digital arts. The Hive studio will offer vocational qualifications in IT, video-editing, music production, graphic design, game design, app and web development and e-publishing.

Hive studio is Ireland's first Digital Social Innovation Hub – providing a range of resources and expertise to create a social benefit from creative technology.

These state of the art facilities will also foster entrepreneurial partnerships between skilled digital artists and traditional (modern) businesses which require expertise in the 21st century marketplace.

The facilities include:
• MAC, iPad and PC suites, a range of audio, video and photographic equipment including Drones for aerial videography.

• A Large format A1 scanner suitable for high quality archival scanning (either flatbase or book scanning). Hive offer a dedicated scanning service for a large form of legacy media (photo prints, negatives, slide, 8mm, VHS)

• A cinema and eight inter-linked large-format TV screens in the studio spaces and public mall area

• A photographic and film studio

• Professional video editing suites

• Conference areas and teaching space,

• Administration offices

• A Google-style ‘chill-out’ zone

• Customised units for digital start-ups

• Staging and modern AV equipment for public launches and performances.
