The Beer Mile Newry

Welcome to 'The Beer Mile Newry!'
The Beer Mile is fun running event built upon three things: drinking beer, running a mile and raising funds for The Southern Area Hospice.

The event will take place on Sunday 23 October 2016 beginning at 1.00 pm
Location
The location for the event is on a pre marked four lap course in Newry Rugby Club.
Start Time
Start Time for the event is 1.00 pm.
Cost to enter the event is £18.00 plus booking fee. All proceeds are in aid of the Southern Area Hospice.
Course info
The format of the beer mile requires each participant to drink a single 330 ml beer in an area called 'The Chug Zone', when they have finished the drink FULLY they then run a quarter mile lap around a marked course within Newry Rugby Club. The participant then repeats the process three times.
This results in the consumption of four beers and the running of four quarter miles (hence 'The Beer Mile'). The entire process is timed. The total timed and there will be prizes for the winners.
Arrival info
Please arrive at the event 45 mins before the start time to allow for race pack collection.
Parking
There will be parking in the ground of Newry Rugby Club. Please do not park along the main Hilltown Road.
What to bring
Participants should wear sensible running shoes and suitable attire. Please bear in mind the event is in October so it may be cold. It would be advisable to bring a change of clothes for after the race.
Please note
It is important to arrange taxis or lifts for returning home as participants will not be allowed to drive after the event due to the consumption of alcohol.
