More about Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice

Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice provides incredible care for over 1,170 people living with incurable illnesses each year in Airedale, Craven and North and West Bradford.
Established almost 40 years ago, Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice not only provides specialist medical care to ease pain and discomfort, but also offers people and their families real emotional support during what can be an extremely difficult time.

We take the time to get to know the person and understand what their individual care needs and aspirations are; time that sometimes isn’t available in a hospital. And, the care we provide is flexible, giving people the freedom to live the life they choose, whether that is for a number of years or days.

Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice provides incredible care through a range of services so that people can have choice and control over how and where they receive their care. These services include; 16 in-patient beds; a day hospice service; outpatient clinics in local GP surgeries; a 24-hour advice service to healthcare professionals; tele-consultation service which enables people to speak face-to-face with their doctor or nurse through their TVs at home; family and bereavement support, and care in people’s homes.

Our specialist doctors, nurses and carers ensure people feel totally supported at a time when they are often at their most vulnerable; providing a listening ear as well as helping them to cope with pain and physical symptoms. We also support families and loved ones to cope with depression, anger and guilt which people can often feel when they experience loss and grief. And, we work closely with Asian communities to break down cultural barriers to accessing our care.

It costs £2.7 million each year to provide care at, and from, Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice. We need to raise a minimum of £1.6 million of that in donations and voluntary income. Living with an incurable illness is difficult and losing a loved one can be unbearable.
An aging population and hard-hitting government cuts mean that we need your support more than ever. Please give whatever you can afford; just £7.80 pays for one hour of incredible care.
