St. Marys church, one of the most important churches in the Diocese, dates from 1839 which was just ten years after Catholic Emancipation. The known history of the church indicates that it was built through the sacrifices and faith of those who had suffered in Penal times.
The church has served the people well over the years and the people in turn have lovingly looked after it.St.Mary's still retains all its beauty and continues to draw admiring comments from visitors from around the world.
Good liturgy is primary in St.Mary's and we work under the principle that if a parish is alive, the liturgy is alive. All our liturgies unfold slowly and deliberately with a focus on developing a sense of community and celebration.
