Thanks for taking time to visit my page. My name is Ruairi, and I am a Personal Trainer at Olympia Leisure Centre.

My professional journey started in 2010, where I obtained both my level 2 & 3 coaching awards. Although these courses was enough to get a foot in the door and work in a gym, I believed it wasn't enough and wanted to acquire more knowledge before starting my coaching career. I completed a Diploma in Sport & Exercise Science which provided me with a sound understanding of the core elements of everything training and exercise related.

With a desire to learn more, I progressed on to University to study the subject in more depth. This was a huge step up but a challenge I embraced as I got to study and analyse the scientific principles of training and exercise in much greater detail - covering all aspects of human anatomy, movement, nutrition and sports psychology to name a few.

While studying at University, I started working at an exclusive health club in Holywood as a fitness coach, spending the time learning the trade, coaching 100's of people with different goals, abilities and backgrounds along the way.

A unique opportunity came as I got to spend a year interning at the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland (SINI) as an assistant Strength & Conditioning coach. I was privileged to work alongside and learn from the best coaches in the country, working across a wide range of sports and elite athletes including professional footballers, golfers, boxers, hockey, motorsport, swimming, rowing and athletics - in which many have been very successful, claiming National, European, World and Olympic medals.

With seven years practical experience along side continuous professional development, I can guarantee, if you put the required effort in, we will achieve your goals, whether that be weight loss, muscle gain or sports specific training. And of course, we will have a bit a craic along the way !
