Naomi Black Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a qualified psychotherapist and pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists. I have trained from an integrative humanistic approach meaning I work from a flexible perspective, informed by what may be useful and helpful to the individual. These approaches include C.B.T, Psychodynamic and body oriented approaches.
I believe that the ability to heal is already within the individual and that with the help of a supportive and non-judgemental environment, the individual can access these resources. I also believe that the mind and body are closely connected and that often the body may communicate more about the state of mind than it is credited with and I further believe it that it is within relationship that we learn about ourselves and can change.
I offer a safe and confidential space, where I will listen and try to understand the experiences of the client. I will work in alliance with the client to explore the thoughts and feelings that are expressed in the space and seek to discover new ways to function and thrive in the world when past behaviours cease to work.

I have experience working with clients who have needed assistance with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss/bereavement, and stress management.
