Muckross House, Gardens & Traditional Farms

Discover heritage, tradition & relaxation, Queen Victoria did in 1861. Today much remains the same in this magnificent Victorian Mansion, one of Ireland's leading stately homes. Muckross House is beautifully situated amidst the spectacular scenery of Killarney National Park.
The elegantly furnished rooms portray the lifestyles of the landed gentry, while downstairs in the basement, one can experience the working conditions of the servants employed in the house.

Experience Tradition - the Traditional Farms is an exciting representation of the lifestyles and farming traditions of a rural community in the 1930's.Take a stroll down memory lane to a time before the advent of electricity, when all work was carried out using traditional methods.Three separate working farms, complete with animals, poultry and traditional farm machinery will help you re-live the past.

Mucros Craft Centre, adjacent to Muckross House is home to a number of skilled craft workers who can be viewed using traditional skills in the crafts of weaving, bookbinding and pottery.

Enjoy a meal or snack in our magnificent Garden Restaurant and avail of a great value shopping experience in our shop.

Opening hours for the Craft Centre are extended throughout July and August, both the Craft Shop and Garden Restaurant are open daily from 9am to 7pm.
