The St Evin’s C.Y.M.S. hall is located at the junction of Main Street and Whelan’s Row, at a key junction in the town. It is the former R.I.C. barracks, which was gifted to the Monasterevin C.Y.M.S. in 1927. It is a protected structure in the centre of the towns Architectural Conservation Area (ACA).
The “CY” as it is known locally has, for many reasons, remained closed and unused for much of the last decade. The MCC has been formed to take over the responsibility of re-developing the hall and operating it as a facility for all the community. Its redevelopment is our priority.
