The Leinster School of Dance
was established over forty years ago, in Dalkey, to provide ballet classes for children. Today the school offers classes in both classical ballet and modern dance taught by a team of teachers in a fun and friendly atmosphere. All teachers are fully qualified and registered with the RAD and other internationally recognised teaching organisations
The teaching approach employed in the school is “learning through fun”. Students will be prepared for the Examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance, London and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance while also being given the opportunity to perform onstage in the school show. Our next show is planned for spring 2013
This year the modern dance classes are being further developed. While fun dances will still be choreographed to current chart hits and the children’s favourite pop songs, the ISTD modern dance syllabus will be introduced to enable the children to take exams with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Modern Dance is an energetic, expressive and fun form of movement that encourages all children of mixed abilities to express themselves.
