Kildinan Preschool

Kildinan Preschool offers an unique service for families in Watergrasshill, Glenville, Rathcormac and surrounding areas that most other preschools cannot offer. Children can enjoy their preschool years on a dairy farm surrounded by nature in the heart of the beautiful Kildinan countryside. The great thing is that we are only a 5 to 10 minute drive away!

Kildinan Preschool is owned and managed by Minna Murphy, farmers wife, mother of two and a qualified childrens nurse. She has 15 years experience working in the preschool sector and holds a FETAC level 6 qualification. Minna works alongside Christine Rice who also holds a FETAC level 6 qualification and who has also worked in the sector for several years.

At Kildinan Preschool we nurture the natural curiosity of every child by providing a wide range of different activities such as; art, drama, music, literature, maths etc. Our teaching methods emphasise the importance of free play and exposure to outdoor and nature activities.

All activities are carried out in small group settings which ensure that each child has plenty of interaction with our highly qualified and motivated teaching staff.

So what do we have to offer?

A brand new purpose built building that is bright, spacious, cosy and an enjoyable environment in which to learn.

A large safe outdoor play area.

Animals to care for, such as chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and fish. The children can also help to feed the newborn calves in the springtime.

A kitchen garden is being established which the children can help with. Here they will learn to grow, care for and harvest fresh berries and vegetables.

Children will be exposed to fresh air and contact with nature. Imagine, your children will be able to spend their time outdoors on safe controlled nature walks on the farm where they will learn to identify and collect specimens of all the animals, insects and plants that the local environment has to offer.

Through these activities children will learn the basic principles of healthy living as well as caring for others and their environment. On top of that, they get lots of exercise while having lots of fun with their friends.
