Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh is an Irish all-boys secondary school founded under the jurisdiction and patronage of the Presentation Brothers. It is located in Bishopstown, Cork.HistoryColáiste an Spioraid Naoimh is a non-fee-paying, Catholic, all-boys school in Bishopstown, Cork. It was founded by Brother Bonaventure of the Presentation Brothers in 1964. The Brothers withdrew from direct management in 1992 but continued their involvement until 2009, when they handed the trusteeship over to the Presentation Brothers School Trust. The school was originally located in Laburnum House, Model Farm Road, and the new school building opened in 1971.Sports Basketball: Basketball began in Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh in the mid-eighties and is now a thriving and popular sport. The school has won four All-Ireland Titles to date. The school won the U19 competition in 1991, 1995 and 2005, and won the U16 title in 2009. CSN was also named Basketball School of the Year in 2009, a year in which we reached three All-Ireland finals. A number of CSN players have played for Irish underage teams. Every year the school fields four teams – first year, second year, U16 and U19. Gaelic Football: In 2005 it won the Corn Uí Mhuirí. The school won the Cork Colleges Senior A competition, along with victories in under-age contests. Gaelic Football has a strong tradition in CSN. Every year, the school enters teams for Cork Colleges and Munster Colleges competitions. Along with numerous under-age successes, CSN won the Cork Colleges Senior A competition. In addition, CSN reached the pinnacle of Munster Colleges football in 2005 when the Corn Uí Mhuirí was secured for the first time. Hurling: Hurling has been prominent in CSN since the early 1980s and the school now enters both Cork and Munster competitions. The most notable success of recent times has been winning the Munster B championship in 1991 and subsequent participation in the All Ireland final. Among the CSN hurlers of recent times who have gone on achieve success at inter-county level are Brian Murphy (now playing senior football with Kildare) who captained the Cork minor hurlers to All Ireland success and Ronan Curran who is a member of the current Cork senior panel. Mountaineering: It has the oldest mountaineering club in Cork, founded in 1972. Soccer: Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh teams have won four All-Ireland titles, as well as coming runners-up on four occasions.
