Ortho-bionomy is a osteopathically based form of body therapy that was developed in 1976 by Dr. Arthur Pauls. This gentle system of bodywork is very effective in helping to alleviate acute and chronic pain as well as stress patterns by reducing muscle tension, soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, improving circulation and relaxing the entire body. Ortho-Bionomy is non-intrusive, as it recognises comfort and completely honours where the body is, at the moment. By gently moving and holding the joints, or effected area in the same direction as the muscle are already pulling. As a result, the muscle(s) naturally begin to relax. The body understands it is no longer necessary to hold that stressed position. In most cases treatment provides relief immediately allowing the body to self-align taking advantage of our inherent healing process.
Many of the most common medical problems are associated with muscular tension i.e.: arthritis, asthma, back pain, constipation, blood pressure, depression, headaches, stiffness, shock, stress, strains, insomnia, nervous conditions, pains, jetlag, grief, etc.
