Bobby Lewis Butchers was awarded “Certified Craft Butcher” status following a shop audit by the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland (ACBI) earlier this year. Certified Craft Butchers are independently audited to the demanding standards of ACBI, thereby guaranteeing customers the highest standards in food, customer service and product knowledge. The process involved in the audits includes rigorous testing of all health and safety processes, traceability, preparation, labelling, and storage – every aspect of the business.
Bobby Lewis Butchers is now among the 100 Certified Craft Butchers throughout Ireland to receive the prestigious certificate and plaque which are only awarded to candidates who reach the required standard in the association’s independent audits.
Bobby Lewis owner and manager was delighted with the news, “this certification standard sets retail butchers apart in terms of quality product, premises, work practices and customer service, all the team worked hard to earn this award and will work even harder to maintain it, it is an honour”, he said.

Bobby Lewis Butchers are a family run business and are operating since 1989 on Bank Place Tipperary Town, celebrating 25yrs in Feb 2014 with the support of their dedicated staff that go to great lengths to bring high standards and quality meats to their customers. Last year Kevin Purcell from Cashel joined the team, Kevin is undertaking the FETAC level 5 Butchering Skills, Kevin has completed three modules and hopes to have his apprenticeship completed next year with accreditation from FETAC.
