If there is one activity that ideally should form part of your routine with your baby, it is baby massage. Moving from the secure, warm environment of the womb, to the cold sterile world is a dramatic transition for your baby. Most babies need the close comfort of their parent’s touch and in the early days are more settled when in mum or dad’s arms.

My name is Joan O'Brien and I am a trained Certified Infant Massage Instructor. I am very passionate about the importance of infant massage and believe, if possible it should be introduced to a new born baby as soon as possible. The loving nurturing touch of Mum or Dad to their baby is something so precious and should be embraced.

The massage itself is compiled of techniques taken from Swedish massage, Indian Massage, Reflexology, and Yoga. In addition to the strokes Infant Massage teaches baby behavioral states and body cues to help parent’s better respond to their newborns.
