The Atlantic Diabetes in Pregnancy (DIP) initiative was established in 2005 with initial funding from the Health Research Board of Ireland. It is a joint venture involving hospitals within the Saolta Hospital Group and the National University of Ireland Galway. Its primary aim is to produce high quality research and use this information to develop a bespoke service for women with diabetes before, during and after pregnancy. The ultimate goal is to ensure that pregnancy outcomes for women with diabetes are equal to those without diabetes.
