More about Massage and Pilates with Annie

I finished studying Sports Massage Therapy in 2015 in Blackrock, Dublin. While studying for the course we completed workshops in dry needling and kinesio taping.
I opened my very own clinic at home in Cooley, situated between Dundalk and Carlingford. I'm available for appointments from morning through to evening, Monday to Saturday.
Sports massage is a very rewarding job where I can physically see the improvements and decrease of pain in my clients. The massage itself is very beneficial to the body. Some benefits of receiving a sports massage are: it promotes healing of an injury, improves the elasticity of the muscle, breaks down scar tissue, increases circulation of blood through the muscles, improves flexibility and pliability of the muscle, reduces pain, encourages relaxation and encourages the removal of toxins from the body.
Dry Needling is an increasingly popular treatment for its positive effects on pain in the body. It involves the insertion of Acupuncture needles directly into myofascial trigger points. Trigger points are tight, tender points within the muscle which cause and contribute to pain within the body.
I am available for sports massage, deep tissue massage, pre and post event massage, injury treatment, dry needling, kinesio taping or anyone just looking for a little TLC for that aching back!
Anyone who is insured with Aviva or GloHealth can claim back a discount from their Sports Massage treatment depending on their insurance policy. Please check your insurance plan first!

I then studied Infant Massage and became qualified as a BMI instructor in late 2015.
I am running baby massage every couple of months. Here you get to come to a class with your baby and spend some quality bonding time learning how to massage them! You can socialise with other parents during the class which runs once a week over a 5 week period. Baby massage has many benefits for your little bundle, including relief of colic, wind and constipation, improved sleeping patterns and you get to spend some quality one-to-one time with your baby, to name a few.
Many health insurance companys offer a major refund to parents who are participating in the baby massage classes, depending on your policy.

I studied Pilates in early 2016 in the National Training College in Dublin. After passing the course, I then started my own classes in Mullaghbuoy Community Centre.
Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core as well as other muscles throughout your body. It increases flexibility, balance and co-ordination, improves posture and prevents injury.

I then studied pregnancy massage in September 2016 in the Holistic College Dublin. Benefits include increased relaxation, reduction in stress, relief from muscle cramps, spasms, and an increase in blood and lymph circulation, which can reduce swelling.
