Adam's Camp Northern Ireland

Adam's Camp was founded in Colorado, in 1986 by Bob and Karel Horney, for their little boy Adam, who had special needs.
It has since expanded and been replicated in three other locations across North American. New Hampshire, Nantucket and Alaska.
For the first time it in its almost 30year history it will be making the jump across the Atlantic to our little corner of Ireland.
Thanks to the vision and drive of Bob Horney founder and Grainne Ashe a mother from Northern Ireland, who brought her family to Adams camp,Nantucket in July 2015, and had a life changing experience, with her six year old daugther who is on the autisic spectrum. She felt inspired to replicate the model here.
Their signature therapy which is unique to Adams Camp is the 5-5-5 program.
Which provides team-based, multildisiplinary teatment, in small groups or one-to-one, from pediatric therapists.
The programs focus on each childs individual needs providing a coordinated, outcome-based treatment.
5-children, 5-therapists, 5-days....
Family's play a huge part in the Adams camp experience as they believe that if you have a child with special needs then this effects the entire family.
Therefore they provide a siblings camp, where brothers and sisters can enjoy adventures, activities, make new friends and just have fun.
The parents are not forgotten they can attend support workshops and the all important, much needed restpite in a beautiful location.
Adam's camp is successful because it meets the needs of the individual and their family in a camp setting, where healing and hope are contagious.
