City of Dublin Division has been serving the people of Dublin since 1905, making us the oldest volunteer ambulance unit in the country.
We operate one fully-equipped emergency ambulance and two response cycles from our base in Dublin city centre, located behind St John Ambulance Ireland's National Headquarters on Leeson Street.
As a local division of St John Ambulance, we are just one part of a national organisation that has divisions throughout Ireland, and we are fully accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council.
St John Ambulance is an essential part of the nation’s emergency response system, working alongside the statutory services to support communities when the ambulance services are overstretched – be it during extreme winter weather conditions, times of flooding, following major accidents or in national emergencies.
We also provide fully trained and equipped personnel at events across the country, from major sporting fixtures and music festivals to fetes and country fairs. This support includes our specialised cycle response units, often first on the scene to incidents at public gatherings.
