Here are some of my tips for achieving the perfect tan. Prepping your skin properly will help you get longer lasting results from your spray tan.

The day before
- Exfoliate your skin, this removes dead skin cells and results in a smoother application and longer lasting tan.
- All waxing, shaving and exfoliation MUST be carried out 24 hrs beforehand, to ensure that your pores have had time to close.
- Moisturise your skin top to toe!

On the day

- Shower but do not apply any moisturisers, deodorants or perfumes on the day of your spray tan. It is also best not to shower or bathe directly before the treatment; you want your skin dry and clean.

After your spray tan

- Wear loose dark clothing. Avoid wearing tight clothes and underwear including bra and socks.
- No sweating, swimming, getting wet or exercising until your first shower after your spray tan. Doing so may cause streaks.
- Be careful when washing hands as this is where tan tends to fade from first. Antibacterial gel on your palms is great for sparing your hands while the tan develops.

Maintenance

- Pat dry after your shower. Vigorous rubbing will exfoliate your skin and your tan will not last as long.
- Shaving your legs will fade your tan and using cream hair removal such as Veet will remove the tan.
- Moisturising extends the life of your tan and it helps your tan to fade more evenly.
- To make your tan last even longer, use a body moisturiser with a gradual tanner in it as this will boost and maintain the colour.
- Once you are ready to remove the tan I would recommend using a body scrub in gentle circular motions and moisturising well afterwards
