Michael is a prize winning Irish step and set dancer. He has won four North American National titles for Irish / Ceili team dancing, with West Hollywood-based St. Ambrose Ceili Dancers, under the direction of Margaret Cleary.

He founded The Los Angeles Irish Set Dancers in July, 2000. The group performed all over California and in Ireland, and were featured in movies, television, music videos, commercials, and in numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
