Karen Slyne Speech and Language Therapy Services

Karen received a BA in Languages and Cultural Studies from the University of Limerick in 2005 before returning to education to complete her Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Karen received her MSc in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Essex in September 2013.
Karen's experiences include working with children with a variety of communication difficulties, including receptive and expressive language delay, specific language impairment, speech delay/disorder, articulation disorder, voice disorders, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder. Karen has worked in a variety of environments including schools, language units, clinics, residential centres and in the child's home.

Karen is also a qualified TEFL teacher (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and has spent time working as an English teacher in Ireland and in Australia. She has also completed a part time diploma course in the Montessori Method of Teaching for Early Years where she graduated with a Distinction.

Karen has also spent time volunteering her services as a qualified speech and language therapist at a local facility in Ireland providing support to adults with acquired brain injury. Karen recently completed the Manchester post-basic Dysphagia course in the UK and will soon be fully qualified to work with children and adults with feeding and swallowing difficulties.
