I am a Physical Therapist, and have a great deal of experience dealing with a wide variety of injuries, both sports related and repetitive strains occurring from bad posture, incorrect work practices amongst others.
I use a range of therapies to treat including manipulation, trigger points, dry needling, faradic and ultrasound (electrotherapy), and deep tissue massage.
Dry needling is highly effective to release trigger points within the muscle and is proven to work deeper than massage on it's own.
Together with faradic and ultrasound 'electrotherapy' the results can be great and huge relief from pain achieved.
Although many injuries are sports related there is an increase in the number of people aware of strains and problems resulting from everyday use.
I am a member of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Medical Team since 2009. I have also worked with local clubs, John Lockes in Callan, Mullinahone GAA Club, and Killenaule GAA Club. As a keen runner from when I started with Clonliffe Harriers to the present day I have a personal insight into the effects any injury can have and the importance of correct diagnosis and treatment.
I am based at the Active Club in Hotel Kilkenny Monday - Saturday. Late evenings available but appointments must be made. I can be contacted on 085 1154707 or on email, jksportstherapy@gmail.com
