Deane's Newsagents was originally opened on Barrack Street in the heart of Carlow Town on the 21st of Septemper 1981 by husband and wife, Ned and Clare Deane. The shop on Barrack Street caters for your Toll Bills, Western Union Money Exchange, Daily Papers/Magazines, National Lottery and much more..
In September 2009, the shop sold a Lotto winner worth 5.8Million.

In September 2001 the family run business opened up a newsagents in Carlow Institute of Technology to supply the students with all of their college needs. The shop supplies a large range of stationary, mobile top-up, freshly made sandwiches/rolls/wraps by Patricia Kearney and much more.
